The Alienist (TV)

Characters: John Moore, Sara Howard

I adore these two together! They are both so damaged, but the ways in which they deal with that trauma couldn't be more different.

I loved how John changed so much over the period of the show, and for the better. He's such a romantic, and so tender-hearted, and it's so refreshing to see a male character change for the good of himself instead of the downward spiral we usually see. He changed from an alcoholic trying to purge the terrible memories of being rejected by his fiancee in unhealthy ways, to a sober man who found a boy who needed him, and a woman he aspired to be worthy of.

Sara is absolutely wonderful. I adore her fierce feminism and desire for justice, and the way she seeks to learn and know things that are uncomfortable, even when the information isn't offered to her solely because she's a woman. But what makes her such a great character is that she is still a woman, who wants physical and emotional affection. Just not at the expense of her career. And her trauma with her father, it's just so terrible, I can't imagine how she must have coped in the asylum.

Possible Prompts:

I love the slow burn exploration of characters realizing their feelings for one another in angsty ways, and Sara is a great character for being the last to come to the conclusion that she could be with John and not have to give up her career. John said he would wait for her, and I want to see him do it. I want him to be patient, but also pine. Then I want lots of kissing.

I also find her interest in sex extremely intriguing, and that if she and John were eventually to get some under the petticoat action, she'd be totally into it. Sexy times would never be boring with them, so if you want to write some kink, I would seriously love it. We know your fingers are nimble, John. Now prove it.

If sex is not your thing, you could write a series of conversations they have over the years in Mrs. Moore's garden, from when they meet for the first time to (hopefully) a confession from Sara, and all the sexual innuendos and sweet moments in-between.

I don't mind if you want to delve into the traumas they had, as long as the ending is hopeful and touches on how they can move through life together.

If you don't ship them, I might be sad, but I do like case-fic, so if you want to do that with them and the gang, go right ahead.

The Watchmaker of Filagree Street

Characters: Akira Matsumoto, Grace Carrow, OR Katsu.

Where do I start? I actually read this because of the promo post, and totally fell in love with Katsu. He's just so adorable, and there's that question of is he a piece of clockwork or something more sentient? Is he gone or will he return? I want to know.

OR if you happen to be a rare het shipper with this pair, you can write me the Akira/Grace fic of my dreams.

I hoped from the very beginning when they introduced Akira and Grace as friends that it would turn romantic. I am partial to interracial relationships that are actually historically possible, like this one, when the male character isn't white, so I jumped right onto this ship, even though I'm probably the only one who cares.

Akira is so interesting, though I feel there is much to explore there, as he wasn't as large of a character as Grace was.

And Grace. My poor Grace. She is so...unlikable. And she's not an innocent victim in the schemes of the male characters, but actively participates in working against Keita (and really, who could blame her). Still she takes responsibility for it in the end. What touched me the most was when she says she was the child that couldn't see magic, because that's worse than being the "special" one--not being special to anyone. But when Akira comes back at the end because he missed her, it shows her that she isn't alone and that there is someone who cares for her.

Possible Prompt:

I like introspection and angst, so if you want to explore Grace in that way, go ahead. Same with Akira. It would be lovely to have some shippy fic and/or smut, with or without kink! I think she's a total ice queen, and Akira thawing her would be a lot of fun. If you wanted to explore some bondage with them, that could be cool, but I'd rather it be a smaller part of the smut and not take up the entire storyline.

Or if you would rather write about the adventures of Katsu the clockwork octopus, I would be just as thrilled. I think he is probably my favorite character. Why does he like socks? Is he drawn to the water because he's an octopus? Where did he go if he wasn't destroyed in the explosion? Is he biding his time? Will he show up in Japan and haunt Grace as a killer octopus now!? The possibilities with him are endless.

Life on Mars (Korea TV)

Characters:Han Tae Joo, Yoon Na Young

This is a long shot in the dark, but I really enjoyed this drama. It was a bit darker than the British one, perhaps, but the characters are just wonderful. I loved Han Tae Joo and Yoon Na Young together, and I was so disappointed we didn't get a kiss. I wanted Han Tae Joo to come back for her. And while I understand the choice to make Tae Joo hear people from 2018 through the radio, I don't like it. I want it to be more permanent. He made the choice, and I want it to stick.

Possible Prompt:

So I guess with this ship I want fix-it fic. I want to see how they date, then how they get more intimate and then marry. I want him to be happy with his choice to stay in 1988 because of Na Young. Thats it.

Things I Like:

I really like romantic porn/smut.
-First times, especially if its unique i.e in a car, awkward but cute fumbling, etc.
-Male characters who have never had sex before but are not incompetent lovers (maybe they need a few tries...)
-Female body worship, scars, fetishizing of a certain body part like the ears or neck, finger, etc.
-Semi-public sex, sex in places other than a bed - in nature, in a car, in water, against wall, on couches, on kitchen counters, etc.
-Sexual positions other than missionary (especially from behind with body worship).
-Seduction by the woman.
-Aphrodisiacs, or stimulation.
-Light bondage
-Sensory deprivation.

I guess you could say I like vanilla with lots of toppings. I'm not against more intense kinks, but not Non-con/rape, subdom lifestyle, domestic abuse, underage, fisting, watersports, scat-play, necrophilia, bestiality, or role-playing, mpreg, tentacles, body horror, omegaverse.

Non-sexual tropes I like:

-Enforced proximity, fake-dating, bed-sharing, falling asleep on the other's shoulder, dreams, witnessing nightmares, etc.

-Affection, accidental touching and reactions
-Introspection to characters own reactions
-Undercover work/casefic.
-Unrequited Love that Eventually Gets Requited. (I love the angst and tension of these kinds of fics.)

-Humorous hijinks, especially if it leads to my otp realizing how they feel about each other.
-Character introspection
-Angst with a happy ending.

Things I Don’t Like:

-Major character death.
-When writers use phrases like, “said, the redheaded beauty.” I really hate it. I like pronouns.
-When my ships sink before they have sailed. Gen is acceptable, I just don't want to read a story about John with Laszlo and not Sara.

DNWs: Non-con/rape, subdom lifestyle, domestic abuse, underage, fisting, watersports, scat-play, necrophilia, bestiality, or role-playing, mpreg, tentacles, body horror, omegaverse

I hope there were enough prompts to help you if you need them. Really, as long as it has my otp ships sailing, or at least about to depart, I'm happy. If you must write gen, I'd love to see comedy or casefic. Or Katsu.

Yuletide fic has been started, but I have Jane/Lisbon in my mind right now, and I have to get them out. So, Mentalist fic in the works. I hope its good, because I really need to get back to my original writing. >.
